Built for African newsrooms
File the story. Publish the evidence with it.
Siffo spots what your story is missing and offers it. You decide what runs.
Runs as a plugin on your own self-hosted WordPress.
Your copy, your domain, your figures.
In the editor
Siffo works where you already write.
No new window and no new tool. The offers arrive beside the draft, and nothing moves until you say so.
Nine frames, nine credits, nine licences. Captions as you wrote them, cited at paragraph 22.
The channel at Jimeta, dug in 2020 and never lined.
Frame 2 of 11. Photograph credited in the gallery. Rights recorded.
Frames held to paragraphs 12 to 16. Stacks into a plain ordered set where motion is turned off.
Water in the compound at Doubeli, three hours after the rain stopped.
Filmed by a stringer. Credit, licence and permission recorded before publish.
Sample story. Figures are illustrative.
Installed once, on your own WordPress. No developer on the desk, no story leaving your domain.
AI analysis
Reads what you filed. Says what it can build.
You file. Siffo reads the copy and whatever you dropped in beside it: the ministry spreadsheet, the phone video from the stringer, the situation report. It comes back with a short list, each item tied to the sentence that asked for it. You are at the top of a deadline, so the list is short on purpose.
- Reads the draft and the attached files as one piece of work
- Names the paragraph and the file behind every offer
- Accept, adjust or refuse, one suggestion at a time
Analytics
Find out what readers actually did with the story.
Not just how many arrived. A dashboard in your Siffo account, per story and per element.
Story performance
Views, average read time, scroll depth and completion rate on every story you publish with an element in it.
Element engagement
Which elements readers opened, how long they stayed with each one, and which treatments held them to the end.
Video and device
Play and completion rates on every video section, and how much of your audience met the story on a phone.
Built for a Nigerian mobile connection
Designed for a phone first.
Interactivity is only worth having if it loads.
A budget per element
No element may add more than 40 KB to the page, compressed, counting its markup, styles, script and data together.
Low-bandwidth mode
Heavy assets are stripped automatically for a reader on a slow connection, without you doing anything.
Readable with no scripts
A chart serves its table, a map serves its list of places, a timeline serves its entries in order.
Guardrails
What Siffo will not do.
Four rules the product is built around. They are not settings, and there is no switch that turns them off.
The full list, with what each one means-
It never rewrites a line.
Siffo reads your draft. It does not touch it. The standfirst, the quotes, the order of your paragraphs and the last line all publish exactly as you filed them.
-
Every suggestion is accepted, adjusted or refused by a person.
Nothing reaches the page on its own. Spike a suggestion and it stays spiked; Siffo will not raise it again on that story.
-
Every element cites the paragraph and the file it came from.
Open any chart, map or figure and the sentence and the source file are right there, so the desk can check the work in seconds rather than ask you to.
-
Media rights are recorded before anything publishes.
A photograph or a clip cannot go on the page until the credit, the licence and the person who shot it are on the record.
Ownership
The story publishes to your domain. Never to ours.
Siffo is a plugin on your own WordPress. The page sits at your URL, under your masthead, next to your ads, counted by your own analytics. The search traffic the story earns belongs to you, and so does the reader who arrives through it. Switch Siffo off tomorrow and the story stays up, figures and all.
